Supporting Social Innovation: A Journey Through Two ESF Programming Periods, The Experience of The Czech Republic

Last week, NCCs from across Europe came together in Prague to explore the Czech Republic’s social innovation experience at the “Supporting Social Innovation: A Journey Through Two ESF Programming Periods” event, organized by the Community of Practice (CoP) on Social Innovation.

Over two days (13–14 May), standout good-practice examples highlighted the “social time bombs” that silently shape our societies — mental-health issues, gender inequality, housing exclusion, energy poverty, and more.

These insights underscore the urgent need for collaborative social innovation, enabled and supported structurally and financially by ESF+ funding and the dedication of Managing Authorities, to transform pressing challenges into sustainable solutions.

Bold systemic innovation, flexible funding, and empowered managing bodies drive real social change, and this approach sets the stage for social innovation.

Reconnecting with our SEED2SCALE partners and exchanging ideas with NCCs from diverse consortia and countries was a wonderful way to strengthen our network and turn these insights into real-world impact. 🌍
