Social Innovation Spotlight: How to improve accessibility for blind people

In today’s Social Innovation Spotlight episode, we present an initiative from Greece that helps create more accessible neighbourhoods through practical training and digital inclusion to increase the autonomy and inclusion of blind and visually impaired residents.

Black Light delivered 20 in-person experiential trainings for businesses in busy neighbourhoods in central Athens, focused on communication, guidance and service techniques. The initiative used role-reversal experiential learning, designed and facilitated by blind professionals.

Additionally, 10 online webinars were organised to help small businesses and cultural organisations improve the accessibility of their websites.
