Social Innovation Spotlight: Cosmetics made by people with disabilities

This time, we’re turning the spotlight on OPHORI – Handmade Cosmetics, a social enterprise that shows how something we use every day can create real impact for the environment and especially for people with disabilities.

Behind every product they make, there’s a team of people with disabilities involved in every stage from production to final product, working in adapted, supportive conditions within a legally recognised protected unit, crafting responsible cosmetics.

Ophori’s journey started through an acceleration programme dedicated to empowering social entrepreneurs in Romania. Today, the company is evolving as a business, setting a national example of good practice in sustainable production and inclusive workplaces.
