Social Innovation Spotlight: AER local – a zero-waste store with natural products

A new series, Social Innovation Spotlight, will present impactful initiatives from the countries of the SEED2SCALE consortium, which includes Croatia, Greece, Italy, Romania and Slovenia. The series will highlight examples of social innovation that have been uploaded to the Social Innovation Match platform, showcasing solutions that contribute to more sustainable, inclusive and resilient communities across Europe.

One of the first initiatives selected for the series is a zero-waste store from Romania – AER Local

The initiative demonstrates how a local business can reduce waste, support local producers and strengthen environmental education within the community. It shows how a retail space can evolve into a community hub for sustainable living, offering packaging-free products, encouraging responsible consumption and building meaningful connections between consumers and local artisans and producers.

This approach helps ensure that inspiring practices become more visible and accessible to innovators seeking effective solutions for their own communities.
