ITALY - Pilot Project

The objective of the Italian Pilot Project is to test a set of competences identified in the activity of developing and activating the NCCs Core Competences Portfolio in a real-life scenario. The project aims to scale up the pilot experience already implemented in the SEED project, where several in-person capacity-building workshops are delivered to civil servants, including policymakers and public officers responsible for service design.

The concepts and methodologies of social innovation, including co-creation, an integrated approach, and impact evaluation methodologies, are transferred and applied to address specific challenges identified by the beneficiaries. In the new pilot project, the focus is on a specific target group identified together with the National Advisory Board, particularly the Italian Metropolitan Cities and Regional Authorities. The project offers them a capacity-building program to enhance the professional competences of Public Administration personnel in applying the social innovation approach to designing and managing public services. This process also contributes to identifying priorities and topics to be addressed in the National Strategy and Action Plan on Social Innovation.
